iPhone 5 Jammed SIM Card Removal
What to do if your iPhone 5 nano SIM gets stuck. One thing that changed when the iPhone 5 was released was the size of the SIM card. While the new nano design freed up a little bit of space inside of the phone it also makes an exact fit even more important. Once in a while we come across an iPhone 5 or 5S that is unable to fully eject its SIM card tray. This is often due to a misalignment on the inside of the phone. If your SIM tray gets stuck you will need to be very careful when you remove it. Never force the tray into or out of the phone. Doing so can cause damage to the internal contacts which allow your SIM to be read by the phone. If these contacts become damaged you will not be able to communicate with your wireless carriers network. The procedure shown in the video above can often allow you to remove the nano SIM if and when it does get stuck. If this doesn't solve your problem then it is a good idea to take your phone to a trained expert for assistance.
Another common reason for SIM cards getting stuck is using a "Turbo SIM" adapter. While these can sometimes allow you to use your locked iPhone 5 on a foreign network they often result in a SIM that cannot be ejected.
